How the WeMotions movement rises
Each video button represents a new post (once per day). The flag represents the payoff the followers are watching someone go toward with the daily video update.

For example, this creator made videos saying day 1 of their goal to hug Elon Musk, and after posting daily for 62 days built a massive following which got Musk to hear about it multiple times, before he set it up.

Key insights
I have not seen a single person take this method, and create an ecosystem effect out of it. Tackling multiple large goals at once means fanbases will emerge across the accounts, and when one flag post gets taken down, the entire vision and roadmap will become even more enticing and fun to consume.
Each separate social media account going after a goal is represented by a flag pole here. The different flag poles of each account vary in difficulty. As different flags get knocked down, the end state flag becomes more tangible as possible in the viewers eye, and the story of the other flags also becomes more interesting.

Why does this work so well?
Especially at manifesting crazy ideas.
It’s all based on winning the competition of engagement of your fanbase, and of the algorithm. In this place 99.9% of videos are not a part of a greater narrative, so your short form consistent narrative towards a crazy idea builds a cult-like following wanting to see if things will manifest (and the algorithm notices). It is really able to hone into a niche, and this rallies attention of the world around an idea. As you prove yourself in continuing to try, and people become closer to you from consistently seeing you try, there are lots of compounding effects.
Even if they do not become a follower right away, story-hacking has a way of continuing to build a movement. When you engage fully with a video from any account, even if you don’t follow them, their next video is likely to come up on your feed. 99.9% of videos are not consecutive storytelling videos—by this I mean channels that continue telling the same path rather than act as a totally separate skit. Relative to your average video, videos which are storytelling to the previous one hack the engagement of the people watching it.

We have a reason to care, and for a true fan base to emerge of each story. As the storytelling of each new day repeats, a core fan base who consistently watched the entire update video of the story emerged. This is based on the quality of the content, progression of the story, and reward of the finish at the end of course. These channels, if properly created with an interesting end goal, end up viral hacking these short form platforms.
Content that is a series that someone can follow and appreciate creates a far more compelled and engaged fanbase than any other thing. Each new video has a dedicated audience which helps viral hack the algorithm. The more dedication there is, the closer people realize the flag pole may be attained, the more invested in the story they become.

While lots of creators have recently been birthed from short form story hacking, no creator has made that mission a part of a grander narrative for the world. Thus, even though these missions are expertly targeted, the viewers disengage once the content goes back to randomness.
Once that story ends, they go back to making mundane content, not related to a bigger narrative, and the views die.

How to storyhack bigger dreams than ever before
How to make your mission unstoppable:
Humans are built to love great stories. From huddling around campfires to huddling around the light of our screens. The major difference is that now stories can catalyze to the entire world faster than ever before. The butterfly effect is truly in your hands.

That’s why there’s never been a better time to go after the greatest story you can imagine. What is your life’s greatest moonshot? This is a tool to get you there.
Remember the flag from our previous chart? It represented a big mission. Each video itself represented a process leading towards that mission. Storyhacking combined these two ideas, and hacks the internet, your fanbase, and the world.
What’s awesome about growth on any account is that it can embolden any other thing you have. Most people tend to just send people to their Instagram, maybe get followers there, some send people to newsletters or have a product to sell. There is actually no one who has taken the framework of developing multiple short form update narratives, leading to greater and greater missions.
Once a single account goes viral, every single other account will get more traction as well. A Linktree may be utilized to link people to all other accounts, or tags made in the comments or bio. A pinned video on each separate account can parlay this greater narrative overall to the viewers, so they follow all accounts.

What’s insanely cool about this is just how powerful of an idea this is. There’s something to be said about “critical mass” of ideas. Every idea someone commits to requires a different amount of critical mass to reach to get them truly interested and following. We are attracted to stories with insane potential, as we know the shorter our distance from their epicenter the better. With this idea, with so many accounts, the amount of commitment itself, and the uniqueness of this idea has a much, much lower critical mass point for followers.
Every mountaintop climbed gives hope, support, and resources for higher mountains.
What may seem impossible now becomes more possible with every like, every video, every ounce of effort.

Why attention is worth more than gold
The billionaire VC who scaled Facebook to 1B users, Chamath Palihapitiya, shared his prediction on the next evolution of social media.
“Here’s why content creators will be the billionaires of the future.”

Here is Chamath’s theory (and why you should start creating content online), in three waves:
01
Hardware
Apple & Google, via iPhone & Android: billions of monthly active users and trillions of dollars in value.
02
Apps
Facebook, Snapchat, YouTube, Twitter: an “atomized version of the platforms” that sits on top of them.
03
Content creators
The next “atomic unit”: people building businesses on top of the platforms, curating communities and attracting mass attention.
Read the full breakdown
The first wave: hardware
Apple & Google kickstarted the initial boom of modern tech. Mostly via iPhone & Android, they attracted billions of monthly active users and trillions of dollars in value.

The second wave: apps
Think of social networks like:
- Snapchat
- YouTube
These apps sit on top of Apple & Google’s products. Chamath calls them an “atomized version of the platforms.” You download them from Apple & Google’s app stores…

The third wave: content creators
The next level, or “atomic unit,” is hiding in plain sight: content creators are the ones building businesses on top of these platforms.
In the next 5–10 years, creators like Mr. Beast, Joe Rogan and Logan Paul will likely capture billions of followers and trillions of dollars.
Creators are “atomizing” what the social networks did: curating communities and attracting mass attention. And as a result, all the future value will accrue to them. Mr. Beast has already been offered $1B for his YouTube channel. If you think about it, it makes perfect sense.
In a world becoming increasingly digitized and AI-dominated, people will crave other humans to filter information through. They’ll be drawn to individual personal brands, not faceless corporations. It’s basic human psychology. Creators are the newest and future layer through which people consume media.
Chamath explicitly states:
“I would focus on the content creation side of things because I believe that’s where the puck is going. That’s a much more important shift in how we all consume information.”
Platforms > Social apps > Creators. This is why it’s more important than ever to start building online. Social media is your new resumé. Don’t get left behind. Start now.

Content leads to Community which leads to Capital which we use to create Improved Content and the flywheel continues. This is the business model of any creator, I just am yet to see any creator take on telling a story as grand as even pieces of what I want to do. Some see that as a sign that the story is too big, I see it as a sign of opportunity and a missing place in the world. Musk is great, but he is a CEO.

Defining the what: your great narrative
There is one story, equivalent around all religions, dogmas, and philosophies: the reaching of eternal fulfillment, utopia, heaven, the kingdom of god, nirvana.

Today we have no great storytellers like those of the past who look to the heavens. The closest we get is those who look to the stars.
I hope we as a humanity continue to search for stories, and beliefs that act as a glue between these bubbles.
At the very least, we have love, but saying universal love is the answer is a bit abstract. It lacks a defined vision for the future. Instead of pushing forward an idea of utopia, pushing something universally “cool” and more concrete is my version of dreaming of this future in a way that is universal.

This is the final piece of the story I am telling: a party on the moon that everyone in the world is invited to.
Free first class, free buffets, free ride tickets (better than you’ve ever experienced in the low gravity of the moon). It is an all inclusive vision of a time which requires a positive future, but is one that anyone can hope for without any religious precedents holding people apart.

Obviously this moon mission is not a profit seeking business. (It is set a decade in the future to allow time for autonomous construction robots to bring the cost of materials down far enough that we can actually provide this free service. This is a time called post-scarcity.)
Now, in order to get there we are going to need to take on a few other major projects.
